Our Caribbean Cruise

Renee and I decided to try a Caribbean cruise this year. We met Monday morning at the Miami airport. We were very happy to see each other again.

The first leg of our trip involved a bus trip to the port.

 We were pretty excited.

The ship was the Millennium of Celebrity Cruises. It was magnificent.
We watched the launch from the balcony of our stateroom.

We spent a lot of time on the balcony. We would order breakfast and watch the ocean. It was beautiful.
Our stateroom was spacious and had everything you could want. We ordered room service from our tv.

We sometimes had breakfast at the Ocean Cafe on Deck 10. A portion of the eating area was outside. This was probably my second breakfast.

We arrived in Honduras on Wednesday morning. This is our first glimpse of the island of Roatan.
 Can't wait...

The food was amazing. I literally ate my way through the Caribbean.

Once on the island, we booked an excursion which started with a bus ride to the far end.

Our travels took us to Tabyana Beach where we would be snorkeling.

As you can see, the beach is incredible. We walked into the ocean and snorkeled on the coral reef.

The weather was perfect. We had clear skies and a warm climate. The water was pleasantly warm as well.

 Amazing!!

After snorkeling for a while we enjoyed a delicious lunch and then relaxed in the sun.

 It was great!

We walked over to a "wall" dropping into the ocean. I found a lizard sunning himself on the rocks.

We left Honduras as the sun was setting. It was the perfect day. Tomorrow we will be visiting Cozumel, Mexico.

Every evening we enjoyed a five-course meal with our wonderful table mates. We made some very good friends on the cruise. They were a lot of fun.

Our waiter, Nelson, showed us how to make an origami turtle out of a napkin.

His boss then demonstrated his skills at making a pair of pants...
We are now ready to visit Cozumel. We pulled into port at 10:00 a.m. and disembarked onto a pier filled with little shops. We spent a few hours shopping.

After shopping, we rented a scooter and drove to Paradise Beach. We snorkeled off of this pier. We saw a school of small silver fish and when some much larger fish arrived, we headed back to the beach.

You can probably guess where this beach got its name.

After leaving Paradise Beach, we drove around the entire island. At first the road was enclosed by vegetation but then it ran along the ocean. We stopped to take some pictures of the area.

As you can see, it was beautiful.

After Cozumel, we spent the next day at sea, basking in the sun by the pool. We then returned to Miami on Saturday and flew home. Needless to say, our trip was wonderful. Stay tuned for more pictures.
