Carla and Mike had quite the assembly line going for the gifts.
They loved the diaper bag Mike picked out for the registry.
Too cute!
I'm not sure who this was from, but it is adorable.
Great-Gramma made a beautiful afghan for the baby. That little one is never going to be cold.
Mike and Carla shared the opening of the Portland gifts.
Mike explained the gift he was holding was from the baby's puppy cousin (ok, I made that up).
What could it be?
The gift touched Carla's heart. She was so thrilled.
Mike really liked Olive's gift. I'm sure the baby will, too.
Here comes the "giraffe".
Everyone knew about the "giraffe". Carla was excited.
Thanks, Renee!
Gramma (me) decided to make a little something special for the baby.
Since the name is yet unknown, the bib is adorned with "mini Devereaux".
The guests were asked to bring a book to build the baby's library.
Gently used books were also encouraged.
I decided to give the baby a VERY used and beloved book, Ho-Hum. The story is about a little boy, Benjy, who is so excited about and afternoon zoo trip, he skips his nap. Shortly after arriving, he begins to fall asleep. With every yawn, Benjy puts all of the zoo animals to sleep as well. The other visitors are upset because there is nothing to watch except for the sleeping animals. Every time the words, "Ho-hum" appeared, Gramma would actually have to yawn. It drove her crazy. I loved the story and always asked my mom to read it to me.
During the gift opening, Nicki would read a piece of "egg-stra special parental advice" which was handed out at the beginning of the party. The person who wrote it won one of the table decorations (mums). It was so much fun. Great job, Nicki!
Carla's college friend, Sara, recorded the gifts. She was so excited for Carla. Thanks, Sara.
