I didn't take a lot of pictures in Phoenix, but this is my classroom.
Ready to begin...
On Friday I headed for Lake Havasu for another training. The landscape was beautiful.
My Tom-Tom said I had reached my destination....hmmmm
I'm pretty sure this is not the school. I called the principal and after chuckling when she heard where I was, she directed me down the road.
Ahhhh, there it is. They could have used a bigger sign.
This gas station sign cracked me up. There is an entire chain of Terrible's gas stations, hotels and stores.
When I arrived in Las Vegas, I checked into the Golden Nugget. I was a beautiful hotel.
I stayed on the 19th floor.
The room number reminded me of a house number.
Well, here I am at the Gold & Silver Pawn Store where the Pawn Stars show is shot. I was pretty excited.
I had a wonderful time looking around the store. Everyone was so friendly.
I thought about Brian when I saw this painting, it's titled "Sand Dollars". The play on words was neat. Check out the close-up below.
I recognized many of the items from the show.
This was so much fun. Now I'm headed back to the hotel.
I spent the rest of the evening walking along Fremont street. There was a lot to see.
I'm not so sure about this place. You eat free if you weigh yourself out in front and you are over 350 pounds.
The Toy Shack was fun also. The manager does a lot of toy appraising for Pawn Stars.
The dome ceiling projection was really neat.
Many interesting characters on the street.
My favorite was this cowboy.
Iconic Las Vegas.
On Saturday morning, I headed to Rick's Restoration. This is another show on the History Channel I love to watch. Rick started on Pawn Stars restoring antiques.
There was a showroom where you could see restored things from the show.
I remember this fan from one of the episodes. The owner's son, Tyler, made it for his dad.
Here is Ron, one of the stars of the show.
And here's Tyler. Everyone was super nice.
This was definitely the highlight of my trip so far then....
I went back to Fremont Street to try the zip-line.
Here is photo of some zip-line participants. We started at the 5th floor and shot down to the second.
You can see the zip-liners in this video I took Friday night.
It was absolutely amazing. I would go again in a heartbeat. The entire trip was fantastic.
