My New Aquarium

I recently bought a new aquarium I found on CraigsList. It's 55 gallon and the deal included the stand, a double hood with lights, gravel, a filter, and some ornaments. I'm thankful nothing is leaking so far. Regen is on the lookout for drips.

I bought water at a local purifying store and began to fill it up. My fish are getting pretty excited.

When I ran out of the purified water, I began transferring the water from the old fish tank. This water was fairly fresh, I just changed most of the old tank water when I moved it back into the front room.

The new tank now has enough water to start the filter (which worked perfectly). Then I transferred my first fish over to his new palatial estate. He seemed pretty excited.

After the fish were transferred, Tony noticed some very small baby guppies still swimming in the old tank.

He spent about an hour rounding up at least 6 fortunate babies...

I'm really happy with the new tank. It's the perfect size. I'm going to put up a backdrop and build shelves underneath. Once the fish are established (at least a month), I'll add some new species. I'm really excited.
