We decided to go to the Oktoberfest at the Carpathia Club. It was a lot of fun. As we walked in, these young men were doing the Schuhplattler, a traditional Bavarian dance.
We had a whole gang! Carla and Mike met us along with Gramma and Grampa.
First things first, food! We headed for the sausage tent, I made a beeline for the beer.
Gramma and Grampa saved us a table.
Needless to say, the food was good.
Grampa is in his full German attire. He really enjoyed the fun.
I think Mike and Dad are solving the world's problems or talking about the weather.
The baby liked the music.
Katie informed us "fish lips" is the newest craze in middle school. We decided to be cool for the camera.
Al and Katie had a great time.
This Schuhplattler segment was introduced as possible the most "extreme" version ever demonstrated. I was intrigued.
Before the evening ended, I asked several members of our group to share a commentary for the blog. Al dedicated his to Renee.
I'm not sure if Mike and Helmut understood the whole "video" concept...
So Carla and I showed them how it's done.
A good time was had by all!! :-)
Such great pictures! I just love them and can't wait to see the videos soon as well. The picture of Dad, Carla and Al is so great! And I love the one with Grandma and Pa with the beautiful fall trees behind them. I wish I could have been there. Thanks for sharing them :)
ReplyDeleteAlso Mom, could you send me the picture of Grandpa with his hotdog and he is smiling so big? I love it!
